In-4, black morocco, boards decorated with a composition with red morocco parts, a motif of claws drawn in gold fillet, a bell drawn in green fillet with the clapper mosaic, smooth spine, each back cover edged in morocco and decorated with a large engraving by Freida in 2 states, black and bistre, gilt edges, covers and spine (Franz). Edition illustrated with 11 original etchings by the painter Raphaël Freida (1877-1942) engraved hors-texte. The text is printed in black and green with ornamentation at the head of the chapters, initials and endpapers. Edition of 538 numbered copies, this one of 60 on japon impérial, containing all the plates in 4 states, as well as one refused plate. The latter is also in 4 states, two of which are mounted on the back covers. A fine copy in an original binding signed by Franz.
