Stamped by the photographer on the reverse. – Slight scratches and edges slightly rubbed; holes in the upper corners from previous mounting. Overall in very good condition. Clean print. This work is characteristic of Heidersberger’s oeuvre; he developed the ‘Rhythmograph’ apparatus specifically for the production of his Rhythmograms. Via a mechanically coupled mirror and a point-source light, four harmonically damped pendulums create complex light trails on light-sensitive material. The interplay of frequency, amplitude and phase shift results in three-dimensional light drawings of formal elegance. The works uniquely combine artistic creativity with scientific precision. Gelatin silver print mounted on wove board. Verso bearing the photographer’s stamp. – Minor surface scratches and slight rubbing to the edges; the upper edges show holes from previous mounting.
