MONKEY WITH A NUT - The Embden Collection
Renaissance, Germany, probably Augsburg, 17th century.
Dark patinated bronze. Seated monkey with a slight grin, holding a nut slightly behind him. Fine detailing of the fur. On a rectangular pink marble base and profiled slate plinth.
H 9.5 cm (without plinth)
Bronze rubbed. Plinth with various chips to the edge and minor repairs to the slate.
