Monumental silver historicist wine tasting bowl. Five-panelled mirror in relief and flower-shaped curved, rising rim, finished at the bottom with a short spout decorated with rocailles, crowned at the top by a movable medal set in openwork volutes. On the obverse a portrait of a doge with the inscription "DOC ET EQ AC S.MAR.PPOCU NICOL MICHAEL" and on the reverse a portrait of his wife with the inscription "UXOR EIUS DEA CONTARENA". In the mirror a Venetian harbour scene with ships in the background and Neptune and Venus on a chariot pulled by hippocampi. Wall mounting on the reverse. Pseudo marks.
