Monumental royal Empire silver girandole. 5-light; on a square base with end panels surrounded by palmette friezes, balancing on a sphere, the goddess of victory Victoria with raised arms and wings as the shaft of a 5-armed chandelier with S-shaped curved arms and spouts decorated with leaf relief. The two opposing sides of the base depict ladies in antique dress and the coat of arms of the Serbian royal family surrounded by cloth hangings. Inspection mark, tax stamp, master Anton Köll (active from ca. 1795). Weight approx. 8030 g. H. 75 cm. The coat of arms of the Kingdom of Serbia has existed in the depicted form since 1882, as Serbia was previously a principality. The same design ceremonial girandole by Köll from 1817 with the same coat of arms is depicted as a counterpart in the literature. Cf. Neuwirth, Viennese Silver 1781-1866, P127.
