MORAND (Paul). Ouvert la nuit. Paris, NRF, 1924. - Closed at night. Ibid, id. 1925. 2 volumes small in-4, brown half-maroquin with corners, boards covered with granulated handmade paper with old gold castings, gilt head, cover and spine (Devauchelle). Reunion of the first illustrated editions of these two works, collections of short stories that were successful when published in 1922 and 1923 respectively.
Ouvert la nuit is illustrated with 6 watercolours reproduced in stencil by Raoul Dufy, André Favory, Roger de La Fresnaye, André Lhote, Luc-Albert Moreau and André Dunoyer de Segonzac.
Fermé la nuit is decorated with 5 original etchings and 36 reproductions of pen-and-ink drawings by Jules Pascin.
Limited and numbered editions, 320 copies and 407 copies respectively. Our copies are one of 305 on Arches laid paper for Ouvert la nuit, and one of 370 on vellum pur fil for Fermé la nuit.
