SILVER MUSTARD POT, ATTRIBUTED TO THE MASTER SILVERSMITH JEAN-BAPTISTE HARRAULT (1715-1773) OR HIS SON JEAN THOMAS (1741-1796), AVIGNON, CIRCA 1765 of baluster form, decorated with torso ribs on the lid, standing on a pedestal with a segmented outline, the rim with mouldings of ribboned fillets; the base of the body chiselled with waves; the body partially foliated, the upper part chiselled with waves on a background of amati; the lid surmounted by a hold formed by a foliated scroll; the spout with a graven coat of arms surmounted by a marquis's crown; the handle with scrolls. Under the base, the town hallmark and the goldsmith's hallmark (twice). (Minor accidents, minor restoration and possibly lined) A silver mustard pot attributed to the master goldsmith Jean-Baptiste Harrault or to his son Jean Thomas, Avignon, circa 1765 Weight : 290 g. - 10.23 OZ - H. 14,80 CM - H. 5,8 IN.
