His production is characterised by a verism capable of arousing deep emotions in the observer by claiming the animal a role of study and research, in the climate of European Enlightenment culture. His intense activity is testified by a number of bills of payment for animal commissions requested by aristocratic patrons or those from the rich bourgeoisie.
