An elegant copy from the Randeynes workshop, once belonging to Egyptian statesman Joseph Aslan Cattaui Pasha (1862-1942), from this rare deluxe issue printed on Japon paper with all illustrations in double state. Folio (312 x 258mm). Engraved title, frontispiece, three internal title-pages and 43 illustrations, all in double state ; one with remarques ; including an unused vignette and a third state of the title vignette, this last one signed in pencil by the artists. All etchings by Lalauze after drawings by Lami, printed on Japon paper. Contemporary red morocco binding signed Randeynes Rey, with rich gilt frame on covers and spines, morocco turn-ins with gilt border, gilt edges. Provenance: ex libris 'Joseph A.
