MUSY PERE ET FILS, TURIN, BRONZE CLOCK DEPICTING CUPID, FRANCE FOR THE ITALIAN MARKET, CIRCA 1840 A small and graceful pendulum clock depicting Eros with a love lantern on his shoulders, used to conceal the mechanism. The sculptural group stands on an oval plinth decorated with a foliate lip, which in turn rests on delightful eagle talons. Gilt bronze bezel set with small black diamonds. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, steel hands, movement with anchor escapement, silk wire suspension, light pendulum, hour and half-hour strike on bell. Watch to be overhauled. H. 47 cm.
