Mythological figure group "Apollo and Daphne" by Meissen Apollo standing on a square, moulded base in a dynamic striding position, covered with a soft yellow, loosely draped cloth, about to embrace the fleeing Daphne, who is already partially transformed into a laurel tree. Daphne, with long, flowing, curly hair, has stretched her arms upwards. Polychrome painting with gold staffage. Designed by Christian Gottfried Jüchtzer after the famous marble sculpture by Gian Lorenzo Bernini. Model no. I 9, unmarked rest; crossed swords mark. H. 36 cm.
