NABATEAN TERRACOTTA JUG WITH SPIRAL MOTIFS.
Ca. 200 BC - AD 100
A terracotta jug with a tall ovoid body rising from a narrow base to a rounded shoulder and short cylindrical neck with slightly thickened rim. A broad strap handle joins the upper shoulder to the neck. The shoulder is decorated in white slip with four large spiral motifs, interspersed with groups of elongated strokes.

Provenance: From the collection of a London gentleman; formerly acquired in early 2000s in Japan; previously in 1970s Japanese collection.
