Napoleon III secretaire à abbatant, ebonised wood and full-surface marquetry of ornamented brass and red-backed horn in the so-called boulle technique. Gilt bronze applications. Straight, rectangular body on a flat plinth and baluster feet. The compartmentalised front with five drawers and a hinged work surface with corresponding drawers. Staggered compartmentalisation behind. Profile-framed top panel in white marble. Wide framed reserves of rich volute motifs. H. 136 cm. 70 cm x 35 cm. Provenance: Dissolution of an important art gallery, Villa Oppenheimer/Berlin-Grunewald. A French Boulle style cabinet. France. Circa 1860.
