In the first days of Messidor all the places will be in our power". He also sent "the army bulletin and the capitulation of Plaisance. On hearing the news of the landing at Quiberon, I was going to go straight to the Vendée; but the news I received of the reembarkation delayed my departure by a few days. Today, in spite of what our atheists in Paris may say, I am going with great ceremony to the Te Deum that is being sung in the metropolis of Milan...".
