In-8° bound in full long-grained green morocco, spine ribbed and gilt, gilt roulette framing the boards, the upper one stamped with an imperial crown in the centre, double gilt fillet at the edges, gilt roulette inside, gilt edges, in slipcase. Binding signed Thierry successor of Petit-Simier. First edition of this long poem in praise of the emperors Napoleon I, Napoleon III and the Prince Imperial. The only copy with autograph corrections by the author, enriched with a signed autograph letter addressed to H.I.H. Princess Napoleon [Marie-Clotilde Bonaparte]. A fine copy. Ex-libris stamp with crowned M.C. numeral Provenance: Collection of Princess Marie-Clotilde Bonaparte, Countess of Witt, which has remained in the family to this day.
