Musical sewing set (some parts missing) depicting a varnished mahogany grand piano. 2-tune snuffbox movement with separate blades (17 groups of 4 blades). Bronze keyhole. The keyboard has 3 cleverly concealed movable keys for starting and changing the tune. The brass plate is stamped, partly concealed by the ignition system, but revealing the maker's name, probably Ducommun, and part of the number. Very good condition, good musicality. Circa 1830/40.
