NEO ASSYRIAN QUARTZ FAWN CYLINDER SEAL Ca. 800 - 600 BC. A Neo Assyrian black stone cylinder seal. The seal has depicts a standing god in a long robe facing two standing worshippers. Both wear long robes and have one hand extended and one raised. There is a god sitting on a throne. All are similarly dressed in long robes. A winged solar disc and a lunar crescent appear in the sky. Size: 27mm x 11mm; Weight: 10.2g. Provenance: Private London collection of an Ancient Art dealer; Formerly in a central London family collection, 1990s; Suggested to be examined by Professor Wilfrid George Lambert FBA (1926-2011), historian, archaeologist, and specialist in Assyriology and Near Eastern archaeology, in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
