NEO ASSYRIAN STONE CYLINDER SEAL DEPICTING BATTLE.
Ca. 800 - 650 BC.
A stone seal of cylindrical form, perforated longitudinally. The upper section features a chariot scene with a bearded male figure standing in a two-wheeled vehicle drawn by a pair of galloping equids. Trees flank the scene, marked by vertical trunks with radiating branches. Below, the lower band presents human figures and reclining animals bordered by small rosettes. A narrow groove runs horizontally, dividing the two sections.
A beautiful red opaque glass patella cup with a wide body and a slightly keeled profile. The rim is broad and flattened, extending outward. The body tapers gently towards a short, outplayed ring foot.
