NEVERS. Earthenware plate with contoured rim and polychrome decoration, in the centre on a mound, of a dog facing a cat. In the middle, the symbol of the three orders held by a green bow, below the inscription "pran garde au chat". (Chips on the rim). 18th century. Diameter: 23 cm. Provenance: - Former P.M. Sestié collection. Bibliography: - Reproduced in Collection P.M. Sestié " l'Objet Révolutionnaire " Exposition J.C. Gossec, Gagny 1989, page 137 n° 317. This is a rare model. This plate symbolises the need for vigilance on the part of patriots, imposed by the ideas of counter-revolutionaries. A dog and a cat face each other on either side of the three Orders.
