Comment: Our painter was inspired by François Boucher's landscapes, from which he retained the same blue-green colour range,
and the motif of the dovecote overhanging a stream.
Nicolas-Jacques Bernard Julliard worked with Boucher for more than two decades. He specialised in
landscapes with bucolic scenes. In 1754, he was admitted to the Académie Royale de
Painting and Sculpture. From 1755, he held the position of King's Painter at the Aubusson Manufactory and of "Peintre du Roi" at the "Manufacture d'Aubusson".
Felletin, where he designed tapestry cartoons. He exhibited his works at the Salon from 1755 to 1769, and again in 1781 and 1782.
