Second edition, first published in Lyon in 1568. This report is adorned with a large title frame and 58 (of 60) full-page wood-engraved FIGURES depicting Oriental costumes or scenes from sketches the author made during his travels. "Both men and women according to the diversity of nations, their bearing, posture, clothes, loyalties, religion and way of life...". The introductory pages contain a long elegy by Ronsard addressed to Nicolay about his book, and the disclaimer by Guillaume Sylvius, the publisher, dated December 1575, is printed in civil type. The last ten leaves of the table of main contents and the folios of plates 268 and 269 are missing. Handwritten ex-libris Adrian de Ligny, ex-libris "Nihil Sine Labore". Copy handled, a few leaves repaired including 1 plate.
