A fine and attractive, collectible, hand wound, tonneau-shaped, stainless steel chronograph’s wristwatch with two-tone dial, “Reverse panda” black dial with silvered “Paul Newman” style registers, luminous hands, red tachymeter scale, bi-directional revolving black bezel graduated for 12-hour and 60-minute and removable stainless steel Nivada bracelet with deployant clasp. Fitted with Cal. Valjoux 23, mechanical, manual winding, rhodium-plated, 17 jewels, column-wheel chronograph mechanism, screwed case back, hesalite glass, round chronograph pushers. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 38.60 mm. Thickness 13.30 mm. Approx. overall length 180 mm. Very popular among collectors, the NIVADA Chronomaster Aviator Sea Diver models with “black Paul Newman” dial were only made in small numbers and had the “Paul Newman” Daytona-style sub-registers at 9 and 6 o’clock position.
