NODIER (Charles), TAYLOR (Baron Isidore-Juste-Séverin) and CAILLEUX (Alphonse de). Voyages pittoresques et romantiques dans l'ancienne France [Old Normandy]. Paris, De l'imprimerie de P. Didot l'ainé, 1820-1825. 2 volumes out of 3, large in folio (56 x 37 cm), half red long-grained morocco with small corners, decorated smooth spines, gilt title and tomaison (period binding). First edition illustrated with a frontispiece, 2 title vignettes, 36 large plates and 235 hors-texte plates including 3 bis and 7 plates doubling the state (sketches). A total of 242 plates engraved after Fragonard, Villeneuve, Vauzelle, Atthalin, Isabey, etc; most on Chine appliqué, some on tinted ground. A 3rd volume devoted to Normandy appeared in 1878. Ex-libris JM. Some wear to the binding, foxing rarely affecting the engravings, pl. 88 and 112 partially detached, rare small tears and marginal spotting else a good copy.
