NORTHEN SYRIAN ALABASTER SEAL WITH GAZELLES AND FLORAL MOTIF.
Ca. 1st millennium BC.
An alabaster stamp seal of rounded form, the underside engraved with two gazelles with long horns and short upturned tails on a plain groundline with a small floral motif in the exergue; the obverse flat and cut with diagonal grooves forming a cross.
Size: 32mm x 28mm; Weight: 6.3g
Provenance: From an old British collection formed in the 1990s; previously acquired in Holland.
