NORTHERN WEI TERRACOTTA SOLDIER
Ca. AD 386 - 534. A terracotta standing soldier, designed for placement in a tomb. The figure stands at attention, dressed in a tunic worn over a long skirt and boots. The soldier is depicted with a stern expression, characterised by fine brows, slender eyes, a broad nose, and closed lips. Size: L:260mm / W:80mm ; 510g. Provenance: UK private collection; formerly acquired in the early 1990s in Hong Kong.
