Nouveau Réalisme Yves Klein Anthropométrie (ANT 7). Circa 1970. Lithograph in colour on Arches wove paper (with watermark). 74 x 52.2 cm (92.5 x 58). Numbered. - Minimal browning in sheet margin (also verso, here also with motif showing through), minimal handling marks in upper and lower margins, with localised rubbing in right margin. Very good overall. Splendid, rich impression of the large-format image with margin, realising the painterly value, with the scoop margin at the bottom. Cf. Wember/Fiedler, p. 101 - One of 200 copies. - Yves Klein's preoccupation with corporeality was multi-layered and formative for his work. For him, the body was not only a subject, but also an active artistic medium. As early as 1958, he created his first anthropometrics as a performance in which women rolled their unclothed bodies, painted in blue, on sheets of paper to the musical accompaniment of Monotone Symphonies. - The motif was also used as an exhibition poster for the Karl Klinker Gallery in Paris in 1973.
