A wide-margined copy of this rare 18th-century illustrated work depicting the life of Saint Philip Neri featuring Baroque Rome as the visual and symbolic setting. The drawings are by the celebrated Sicilian painter Novelli.
Folio (428 x 325mm). Engraved title-page and 60 copper-engraved plates, in good condition and with wide margins. Contemporary sheep-backed boards with patterned paper sides (spine worn with loss). Provenance: Ambrogio Dellachà (1824-1916), bookplate to front pastedown. (1)
