Wonderful and large sculpture in carved and polychrome wood with its original cross in carved, gilded, polychrome wood with mirror applications. 136 x 75 cm. Our image for its sculptural quality and dimensions, as well as for its wonderful cross, also polychromed on the back, with a brush marbling, should preside over an altar. Two comparable Christs, undoubtedly from the same workshop as the one we present, are found in the Museo Regional del Ex Convento de Santo Domingo Yanhuitlán in Oaxaca, Mexico, and the second in the Museo Nacional del Virreinato de México.
