Nuna and Bwa, Burkina Faso, mid 20th century
Set of two hunters' flutes with terminal mouthpieces. The large Nuna flute has a wide crescent moon mouthpiece decorated with geometric scarification marks. The small Bwa flute represents a human body.
Both flutes have playing holes for varying the pitch of the sound.
