BRONZE OENOCHOE
Roman art, circa 2nd century AD
Beautiful oenochoe with a globular body engraved with concentric circles on the shoulder and a three-lobed mouth decorated with a frieze of ovals on the lip. The top of the handle features the bust of a satyr dressed in animal skin and the body ends with a scene depicting Ulysses on his return from the Trojan War, greeted by his dog Argos.
