"The Faïencerie Georges Dreyfus in Moret-sur-Loing opened in 1890. Georges Dreyfus demonstrated a spirit of creativity, producing original pieces such as wall-mounted bouquetières, trompe l'œil cake dishes and water jugs in barbotine depicting ducks, cats, roosters, etc. The economic crisis of the 1930s hit the Moret-sur-Loing earthenware factory hard, as much of its production was destined for export to America, forcing it to close its doors in 1936".
