OFFICE for Holy Week, in Latin and French, for use in Rome and Paris. Printed by order of Madame Marie-Adélaïde de France. Paris, Guillaume Desprez and Pierre-Guillaume Cavelier, 1752. In-12, red morocco, gilt fleur-de-lis lace, coat of arms in centre, spine decorated with fleurs-de-lis, inner lace and on the edges, gilt edges (period binding). A red morocco copy bearing the arms of Madame Adélaïde (1732-1800), who commissioned this reprint of the 1728 Office de la Semaine sainte. Her coat of arms appears woodcut on the title of the work. Damage to one spine, corners worn, one blank page removed at the head of the volume, text missing on pp. 181-182, foxing, title spotted.
