Set of four oban tate-e prints from the series of the forty-seven Ronin, paragons of loyalty, entitled Gishi Shijushichi zu, "Illustrations of the forty-seven loyal servants", depicting respectively the Ronin Maebara Isuke Munefusa, his foot on his victim on the ground; Akagaki Genzo Shigekata, in the snow; Hazama Jujiro Mitsuoki falling backwards in the snow, brandishing his sword; Horibe Yasubei Taketsune fighting, his sword raised above his head; Kayano Sanbei Shigetsugu falling in the snow, a spear stuck in his back; Tominomori Sukeemon Masanori, leaping over a screen.
