Johann Wilhelm Gottfried Barth (1779-1852) Born in Magdeburg, Johannes Wilhelm Gottfried Barth made an apprenticeship in the earthenware and stoneware factory of the family Guischard in Magdeburg. In 1796, he joined as an apprentice painter Johann Anton Hubert Anton Forst in the Berlin porcelain factory. As a student of Peter Ludwig Lütke, he trained at the Drawing School of the Academy of Arts. He then worked as a freelance landscape painter in Berlin.
