~OKIMONO Elephant ivory with brown highlights, depicting a winged dragon rearing beside a rock, attacked by ten warriors and peasants with spears and pitchforks, one of them on the animal's back, brandishing a spear, possibly depicting the warrior Egara Heida. Signed Shôgetsu on the base. (Minor damage, small restoration and glue spots). Japan, Meiji period (1868-1912).
