Ibid, an IX [1801]-1807. 3 issues in one volume in-4, red morocco half-basin, smooth spine decorated, spotted edges (pastiche binding). First edition in-8, published at the same time as the in-4, of this "highly esteemed and rare work with the complete atlas" (Chadenat). The atlas contains 50 beautiful engraved plates of maps, plans, views, costumes, natural history, etc., including several double-page or fold-out plates, published in three issues. Charged with a trade mission to the Shah of Persia, G.-A. Olivier left Paris in 1792 accompanied by the naturalist Bruguière and brought back a large collection of naturalised specimens. "This is an important work both for its scope and the amount of information it provides, particularly on the Aegean Islands... Some of the fine natural plates are by P. J. Redouté. The genre plates are after Horace Vernet" (Blackmer). A fine copy, nicely bound in contemporary style. Missing the false title and the title of volume II. The binding of the atlas is not homogeneous.
