OLMEC HARDSTONE PENDANT IN THE FORM OF A MAN’S HEAD Ca. AD 800. A pendant carved from dark green hardstone in the form of a stylised male head. The face is defined by deeply incised lines forming a triangular nose, narrow eyes, and angular brows. Full lips are framed by a broad chin, and a band of vertical grooves marks the upper edge of the head. The reverse is smoothly finished, and the perforation runs above the brows.
