Lot no. 504
Online - Modern and Contemporary Art Norman Liebman o.T. (Everything is...). 1993. Mixed media with watercolour and wax crayon on wove paper. 47 x 66 cm. Mounted in dots on support and framed under glass. - Work slightly irregularly trimmed, with small pinholes in the corners. Very good overall. Expressive composition in bold application of colour. Norman Liebman's artistic career is just as unconventional as his painting itself. As an autodidact, alongside his career as a surgeon, he found a powerful and expressive pictorial language far removed from academic paths, in which stubbornness, spontaneity and emotional depth are directly reflected. The influence of Abstract Expressionism can be heard in his work, but Liebman transforms the tradition into a very personal and highly individual visual language.
