ONUFRY BIZYUKOV (1897 - 1986) Two sketches of a seated nude one signed (lower right) pencil on paper (i) 29.5 x 27 cm (ii) 28 x 27.4 cm Onufry Terentevich Bizyukov (1897-1986) was born in Velizh, in the Smolensk region. He studied at the Mirgorod School of Industrial Art and the Kiev Art Institute, before teaching at the Kiev College of Art (1920-1931). From 1929 to 1932, he was a member of ARIU, the Ukrainian Artists' Association, closely linked to the Boychukist movement. In 1935, he was repressed as a member of the 'reactionary school of Boychukism'. At the buyer's request, we would be happy to provide a general condition report on the lot described above.
