ORIGINAL AND EXCEPTIONAL CACHEMIRE SILK RUG (India, circa 1975-1980) Decorated with a large central medallion in midnight blue, forming the central field with scrolls of fine crenellated ivory branches with flower bud endings, inlaid with a central rosette of salmon pink flowers crowned with flowers. Four salmon pink spandrels decorated in the same way as the central medallion. Wide midnight-blue main border with floral bulbs encircled by wreaths of flowers and surrounded by serrated leaves in the form of stylised strips. Silk velvet on cotton base. Good condition. Density: approximately 8000 knots per dm2. Very fine. Dimensions. 367 x 281 cm.
