The wooden case is panelled in tortoiseshell and richly decorated with gilded bronze friezes. At the top, a festoon of flowers and leaves. Cartouches dial, on gilded bronze plate, burnished steel hands, square movement with hour and half-hour strike on gong, metal suspension. Winding key absent, pendulum present.
