GILDED BRONZE PENDULUM CLOCK AND PORCELAIN PLATES, FRANCE, CIRCA 1860 A pendulum clock made of mercury-gilt bronze and finely chased, supported by a pedestal base centred by several small polychrome porcelain plaques painted on a blue background. The finely decorated case is surmounted by a large porcelain vase decorated with small roses. Porcelain dial on a blue background decorated with painted Roman numerals, centred by a small fluttering putto, burnished brass hands, pendulum movement with Brocot suspension, signed Bennet, striking hours and half-hours on a bell with a rake-wheel system.
