GILDED BRONZE PENDULUM CLOCK, FRANCE, CIRCA 1840 A pendulum clock made of mercury-gilded and finely chased bronze, supported on a pedestal base centred by an asymmetrical skin. The case, with its elegant 'à violon' shape, is composed of swirls and racemes that culminate in a flowery apparatus. White enamel dial with blue Roman numerals for the hours, finely openworked mercury-gilded brass hands, pendulum movement with silk-wire suspension, hour and half-hour chime on a bell with a part-wheel system. H 30 cm, W 18 cm, D 12 cm. To be overhauled, pendulum missing, dial with crack. A GILT-BRONZE MANTEL CLOCK, FRANCE, CIRCA 1840
