Rare Paris edition of the first Christian universal history, written by Paul Orose around 416 at the request of Saint Augustine. The work had a considerable influence on medieval historiography. It was first printed in Augsburg in 1471. Elegantly printed in Roman type, with the bookseller Denis Roce's large mark on the title and sifted-ground lettering. Freckling and wetness, two small scratches to the title, repair removing a portion of the text on the last leaf, rubbed boards. Moreau, I, 380, n°167 - Adams, O-309.
