In-4°, publisher's green half-chagrin binding, boards in richly decorated percaline with cold decoration and large gilt title, spine with false nerves decorated with gilt boxes and gilt title, gilt edges. Spine rebacked in green cloth, with the original spine rebacked (small 3 mm damage to one false rib). First French edition, illustrated with a title plate and 63 hors-texte plates (not 60 as indicated on the title) engraved on steel by Caspar Ulrich Huber. Beautiful album of picturesque views of the glaciers of the Swiss Alps and Mont Blanc, with a topographical text printed on two columns. A good copy.
