OSIRIS IN BRONZE Egyptian art, Saite period, XXVIth dynasty, 664-525 BC Statuette of the mummiform god, standing on a square base, holding the sceptre (heqa) and the flagellum (nekhekh). He is wearing a false beard and the atef crown, consisting of the white mitre of Upper Egypt (hedjet) edged with two ostrich feathers. The beard, eyes and eyebrows are enhanced with gold.
