OVERBEEK (Bonaventura van). Reliquiז antiquז urbis Romז. Amsterdam, Johannes Crellius, 1708. 3 volumes large folio, antique hardback, untrimmedיs. ֹ first edition of this sumptuous work on the architectural remains of ancient Rome, "estimי for the accuracy of the drawings" (Brunet), to which Bonaventura van Overbeek devoted twenty years of his life. It was not published until after his death by his cousin Michiel van Overbeke. This first טre י edition in Latin was followed by a translation into French in 1709 and into Italian in 1739.
