Pair of museum wax portraits of late Renaissance counterparts. Polychrome wax embossing in high relief on slate panels with a painted landscape background, combined with small pearls and other materials. Half-figure, finely detailed relief portraits of a noble couple. The man as a general in richly decorated armour and a folded coat, below an inscription "B. M. P. Gio Tomaso Blank 1594". His wife as his counterpart in a dark, laced dress with a white ruff and red, patterned cloak, below a bird with a coat of arms in front of a drapery and branches. Approx. 26.5 cm x 21 cm. Mounted in a gilded, carved Baroque box frame under glass.
