Pair of magnificent vases with "Napoleon I" battalion scenes on a bronze-mounted base. Amphora-shaped body. Gilt palmette handles raised at the sides. Cobalt blue ground. Oval reserves on both sides of the wall with battle scenes featuring Napoleon Bonaparte. The front depicts the later French Emperor Napoleon I sitting or resting on horseback with a retinue of soldiers. The reverse depicts a battlefield with military equipment and conflagration in a summer or winter landscape. Polychrome painting. Painter's sign "A. Guérin (?)".
