Pair of high quality, elegant Empire silver sauce boats. Slightly flared, oval stand surrounded by a laurel leaf frieze, merging into a short, recessed shaft. Smooth, boat-shaped body, the lower half of the wall surrounded by a wreath of lancet leaves in relief. Wide, stepped, curved rim forming a snout and flowing into an openwork handle divided into two at the base, decorated with a calyx and a single row of scales. The short sides each decorated with a large acanthus leaf in fine relief. The small family coat of arms of the Spanish-Belgian del Marmol family engraved in detail below the spout. Marked 950, unknown maker's mark. Total weight approx. 710 g. H. 10 cm. 20 cm x 10.3 cm. A quality and elegant pair of probably Belgian Empire silver boats with coat of arms by the Spanish-Belgian family del Marmol. Standard mark 950, unknown maker's mark "D". Probably Belgium. 1st third of the 19th cent.
